Logo Contest
Written by Brian McBride
We have decided to create a contest for a new logo for TuX-IRC, our previous logo no longer matches the layout theme of the website and it is just time for somethign new.

We want to get the users involved in the creation of the new logo to be featured on the main website, incorperated into links, and various other promotional material.

The winner will be given their own Eggdrop Shell Account(1) with a pre-configured Eggdrop bot with some basic scripts to get you started, Customized Vitrual Hosts for you, your bot, and your community, and finally recognition for your work on our website (so link referals and promotion for graphic designers and such).

Submissions can be made in the designated forums, or via IRC in #lobby. Once we have enough entries we will create a poll where users can vote on the one they enjoy the most.

Sincerely,

Woo

Server Link
Written by Administrator
I am happy to let everyone know that we have added on a great new addition to our little network. Irc.omghax.ca is now linked to TuX-IRC. This link has now enabled our network with another leaf that supports SSL conections.

This link also brings in 2 new faces for our administrative team, theclone has been added as Network Administrator. I have personally known theclone for several years now and this is simply an appropriate progression to have him join us here. Also we have added andrew as a Network Administrator. I have not known andrew for nearly as long but he comes very very highly recomended by theclone. Andrew is responsable for this new IRC leaf as well as many other bright things to come.

Sincerly,

Woo

Welcome to TuX-IRC Network
Written by Administrator
We would like to welcome you all to our site and to our IRC network. I encourage everyone to log into IRC via their favorite IRC client or through our Live Chat. Once on our IRC server please take some time to familiarize yourself with our servers, and services such as channel and nickname registries. For information on these please ask for help in #lobby or #help channels.

TuX-IRC was formed in late 1999 and was simply an IRC server locally hosted on my pc running in my mom's basement. Over the years the network has grown up and moved out of the basement. The server has merged and worked with many other communities over the years and has recently started again as a project of IV-XX Networks. Tux-IRC has since become the communication backbone for IV-XX Networks, we house many other IV-XX Projects and work as a communication medium for many of their users. This merging of TuX-IRC into IV-XX Networks has allowed us access to better physical resources and a larger network of people to work with.

We hope that everyone will be encouraged to look into the IV-XX Network projects and get to know the great staff that have helped us to recreate TuX-IRC Network.

Sincerly,

Woo

Please bear with us as this transition phase may see some server downtimes as we are linking and integrating many new systems and servers to make TuX-IRC fuction to the fullest. We will try to keep everyone updated of various timelines for upgrades and possible downtime for any servers.
